In a game being built up for years, Coach Wilson fell flat late Wednesday night as Coach Dixon steam rolled the once proud Steeler franchise. After decades of Chuck Knoll, Bill Cowher and Mike Tomlin the Pittsburgh Steelers seemed to have taken a step back by hiring Coach Cory Wilson.
When asked about his performance, the usually overly confident Wilson continued into the Locker Room. He could be heard saying, “Just tell them we rested our starters!” This was such an odd statement given the fact that all of the starters played the entire game.
Even Coach Dixon’s gaffes weren’t enough to derail his team. He said of his victory, “It’s the players and the assistants that deserve the credit. I let the clock run out at half time. That is on me. I’m a little rusty. But the players balled out tonight. We were clearly the better coached team tonight.”
Little Ben threw 7 INT’s. His worst performance under any coach. After taking the 39-6 shalacking he was asked of his relationship with Wilson. “I’m not gonna lie, it is a little rocky right now. We have a lot to work on. We just need to keep grinding and see if we can build up some trust.”
To his credit, Wilson was heard telling Dixon “Good Game” when it was all said and done. This gesture was wiped away when he yelled back at the Chiefs coach, “Good thing it didn’t count!” Coach Dixon responded, “I thought they all counted Cory, you said they all count.”
With just a week until the season officially starts, things are starting to heat up between the coaches and in the league. There seems to be a lot of talk going on amongst the coaches. Some coaches seem to be a little sensitive. Coach Glenn of the “He still isn’t sure which team he will pick” Team feels like Coach Dixon is a little too hard on him. He was overheard telling Dixon that he he just needs to know when to quit heckling him. To this Coach Dixon responded, “I KNOW!”
